Ballistic protection for outboard engines

RIBs, inflatables and fast patrol boats are open and exposed. It is vital that engines are protected, providing a valuable escape from hostile situations. ASL GRP manufacture both rigid and flexible protection options for outboard (and inboard) engines. The covers are designed specifically for your craft ensuring the greatest percentage of coverage possible, whilst maintaining full functionality.

Our removable system will protect the inflatable tube from low-level handgun ammunition and blast fragmentation.

This add-on (fully removable) protection system is easily deployable, allowing for quick setup and effective safeguarding. Equipped with adjustable fixing straps, the system ensures a secure and tailored fit.

The protection system is custom made to a clients required vessel. Any inflatable vessel can be used as a base for this armour system.

The cover is made up in several sections. The bow section is moulded to fit.

We understand that there is not much room to add ballistic protection on the side areas of such small vessels, but this system allows the occupants to crouch down and take cover from small arms fire or any fragmentation by way of additional internal fold-out blankets for extra cover. 

The blankets are attached to both Port and Starboard pontoon panels. In the stowed position, the blankets tuck round the inflatable pontoons. 

The blankets are deployable by pulling the inside webbing handles. When both Port and Starboard side blankets are deployed, they can be joined in the centre of the inflatable with the outer velcro strip. This provides shelter from fragmentation for occupants.
